Allama Iqbal Open University is perhaps the country most internationally acknowledged and prominent institute. The Insitute is government-owned and the world fourth largest higher education institute. The institute was established in the year 1974 and it is situated in the city of Islamabad. The institute has an annual enrollment of more than 100,000 students and the numbers are still growing. The best thing about this institute is that it has provided educational opportunities to the working people and make it so easy for females to attain higher education as it has provided access to females on their doorsteps. The institute has very skilled and experianced teaching faculty and teachers do everything in their capacity to develop and enhance their students academic and professional capabilities. The institute currently has 4 faculties, Education, Science, Social Science & Humanities, Arab & Islamic Studies.
