Government College University Faisalabad is the government-owned higher education institute offering multiple education programs to its students. The institute is one of the oldest educational institutes of the country and started its journey as a primary school in 1897. The institute was given the status of separate university in 2002 and since then managed to gain the reputation of one of the leading educational institute. The main aim of the institute is to provide such an environment to its students where their ideas get envisioned. The institute has campuses in different cities and one such campus is in Sahiwal. The institute Sahiwal campus offers different educational programs and currently has 7 faculties, Arts & Social Sciences, Economics & Management Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Islamic & Oriental Studies, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Physical Sciences.
