Government college of tech or GCT is one of the most prestigious institution in Pakistan when it comes to technical studies, The GCT Abbottabad campus was established inearly 2000's but the roots of GCT college go back to pre-independence era. The Institute was established in the year 1889 bearing the name railway technical centre. As GCT is established primarily to provide quality education in different technical courses. it offers various courses and those who have at least a matric level of education can only apply for admission. The Institute offers different courses and diplomas from civil to mechanical and from electrical to computer courses.
