Pir Abdul Qadir Shah Jeelani Institute Of Medical Sciences (PAQSJ) formally known as Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences is situated in Gambat, Kahirpur. The Institute is considered as one of the city and Sindh's most renowned and well reputed medical institute. The journey of PAQSJ started in 1930 when it was just a dispensary, later in 1997 it was declared as Model Hospital and finally, in 2003 it became a Tehsil Headquater Hospital and in 2005 medical college was established. It became self awarding degree institute in the year 2011. The main aim of the institute is to become a leading medical institute with excellent educational services and patient care. The institute provides state of the art facilities to its students including Labs, Libraries, Conference Hall, Common rooms for Boys & Girls and other important facilities. The Institute currently has 14 faculties and planning to add more soon. The faculties of Insitute are Anatomy, Physiology, Bio-Chemistry, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicines, pathology, Community Medicines, Pediatrics, Gyne & OBS, Ophthalmology, ENT, Medicine & Allied, Surgery & Allied and Anesthesiology.
